The Ratchet & Clank franchise kicked off in 2002 with the PlayStation 2 game Ratchet & Clank.
The PS4 entry was “a full-on, Hollywood-style remake of the 14-year-old original game,” Polygon said in our review of Ratchet & Clank. The most recent entry in the series, simply titled Ratchet & Clank, was released on PlayStation 4 in 2016, in tandem with an animated feature film of the same name. Insomniac Games showed off first Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gameplay, including a variety of wacky weapons - with one that appeared to turn enemies into topiaries. The teaser trailer also teased a new mysterious Lombax. The games are not available on PC, and now that Sony owns Insomniac, they probably never will be.
